SUMMARY:NZ Jazz Workshops
DESCRIPTION:The premier event for young jazz musicians – come and spend a week in Wellington learning from some of the best jazz educators in New Zealand and guest artist John Riley \nThe New Zealand Jazz Foundation provides exceptional musical experiences to young jazz musicians in New Zealand. The National Jazz Workshops bring New Zealand’s enthusiastic jazz students together with top jazz musicians and educators\, working on instrument techniques\, improvisation\, theory\, listening and ensemble performances. \nStudents 19 and under with at least one year of experience on an instrument\, are eligible. \nFaculty for 2018 will include: Dave Lisik (coordinator\, theory\, improvisation)\, Rodger Fox (trombone and big band)\, Nick Granville (guitar)\, Lance Philip (drums) \nDirectors: Rodger Fox and Dr. David Lisik \nThe NZ Jazz Workshops will be held at the New Zealand School of Music\, Victoria University of Wellington. \nACCOMMODATION: students will be responsible for their own accommodation. \nMEALS: Lunch for the five days will be available for purchase at several locations on campus. A group dinner will be provided by the Jazz Foundation on Friday. \nVisit “Register” at  www.nzjazzfoundation.com to register online. Registrations will be accepted for the following instruments: trumpet\, trombone\, saxophone (specify: alto\, tenor\, bari)\, piano\, bass\, guitar\, drumset\, vibraphone\, clarinet\, flute\, voice. \nREGISTRATION: Applications are being accepted immediately and will be accepted until all places are filled. Refunds for cancellations will be given until December 1\, after which no refunds will be possible due to commitments for staffing/faculty at the Workshops. \nSend questions to: nzjazzworkshops@gmail.com \nCOURSE FEES: \nBefore September 15: The fee for students is $210.00 for the 5 days. After September 1: The fee for students is $240.00 for the 5 days. \nCovers five days of instruction at the Workshops (increased from four at Workshops prior to 2012). DESCRIPTION:Pathways to Performance\nIRMT National Conference \n18 – 21 January 2018\nThe University of Waikato\, Knighton Road\, Hamilton \nSpecial rate for MENZA members\nRegister before 30 November for early bird prices.\n\nThe The Waikato Branch of the Institute of Registered Music Teachers welcomes the members of MENZA to join us for the 2018 National Conference.\n\nHeld in the Academy of Performing Arts\, delegates will get to experience the acoustics of the renowned Gallagher Concert Chamber and hear from internationally-recognised presenters and performers. \nThe programme is divided into two streams: piano and voice. Highly targeted masterclasses from experts in their fields will provide insight on these topics and more. This is an event not to be missed! \nWe are pleased to offer MENZA the same ticket price as IRMTNZ members.
