DESCRIPTION:DATE: Monday February  24\, 3.30 PM – 6.30 PM\nVENUE: Old Library\, 7 Rust Avenue\, Whangarei \nThis workshop for teachers explores our identity in a variety of ways that can provide motivation for music and movement.  Through speaking\, singing\, moving and playing together we will explore and learn about the Orff approach with an Aotearoa flavour.\nDownload PDF poster HERE \nPRESENTERS: \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nChristoph Maubach  trained at the Orff Institute in Salzburg and had the privilege of being taught by mentors who were themselves appointed to positions by Carl Orff himself. After a stint as lecturer in music education at the Catholic University in Melbourne\, Christoph decided to make Aotearoa/New Zealand his home. He is a vastly experienced Orff presenter who has run workshops in a range of countries. He is also a highly regarded conductor who has been associated with a number of choirs since settling in this country. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nDebbie Graham is theprimary school Music\, Dance and Drama teacher at Tauraroa Area School . She also teaches vocals to NCEA singing students and takes  a Junior and Senior Choir. Previously\, Debbie was a tutor with Ngati Wai Education\, learning traditional games and waiata to engage students.\nDeb is an experienced  Musical Theatre performer\, with her most memorable roles being Eponine in Les Miserables\, Lucy in Jeckyll and Hyde\, Grizabella in Cats and Madam Giry in The Phantom of the Opera\,\nShe is a founding member of Opera North\, having sung under the tuition of Joan Kennaway QMC\nShe has recently completed Level 2 Orff professional development and is implementing and adapting  many ideas based on the Orff approach into her school programme\, using a Northland flavour. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTo register for this workshop: \nRegister your name and details online HERE. Then\, use your own internet banking facility to make a direct deposit into the ONZA account at BNZ 02 0248 0073940 097     Reference: Your surname; Code: WHA120FEB.
