DESCRIPTION:The IRMTNZ 2026 Conference\, Kotahitanga*\, explores the theme of interwoven relationships in musical contexts\, with topics including: \n\ncreative ideas for teaching beginner students\nthe alliance between composers and performers\nenhancing ensemble collaboration\ncrossing the boundaries of music genres\nchoral singing.\n\nKotahitanga features an outstanding lineup of guest speakers including: \n\nAustralian music educator and author Tim Topham\nSOUNZ Chief Executive and flutist Dr Hannah Darroch\ncollaborative pianist Dr Sarah Watkins\nNZSQ violist Gillian Ansell MNZM\nNZCF Governance Board Chair Pete Rainey MNZM\nAuckland University Associate Professor Graham McPhail\nMENZA Board member Brenda Oakley\nMoE Lead Adviser and DJ Dr Martin Emo\nregistered music therapist and guitar teacher Alvaro Saura Moreno.\n\nNelson Centre for Musical Arts is the ideal venue for our Conference\, with fabulous facilities\, and close proximity to the CBD and various accommodations.
