DESCRIPTION:nextWAV. is a 12-month artist development programme launched by Universal Music New Zealand (UMNZ) to mentor emerging young artists (ages 16–18) across Aotearoa. It provides hands-on industry experience\, creative workshops\, and mentorship from top music professionals.\n\nKey Program Details\n\n\n\nTarget Audience: Secondary-level students (ages 16 to 18) who are citizens or permanent residents of New Zealand.\nSelection: Up to 10 students are chosen to participate in the structured yearly intake.\nCultural Diversity: The initiative actively reserves spots for students creating music in te reo Māori and those drawing on Pacific cultural expression.\nWorkshops & Mentoring: Participants learn about songwriting\, production\, branding\, live performance\, and digital strategy. \nPartners: It is funded by NZ On Air and Creative New Zealand\, with support from APRA AMCOS\, Live Nation\, and the New Zealand Music Commission. \n\n\n\nYou can view more information here: https://www.nextwav.co.nz/
