SUMMARY:Takarokaro Kohau Rau
DESCRIPTION:The alchemy of play and its role within ngã taonga púoro. \nA free workshop for all educators in Otepoti \nJoin us to explore the deep connection between play\, music\, dance\, movement\, community\, and the oro (vibration) that binds them all within te ao Mãori. \nYou will leave with practical activites to share with your äkonga\, and a new energy to bring to your teaching. \n‘Kia kawea tãtou e te rēhia\, e te harakoa\, e te mataraharaha’ – let us be carried away in the pursuit of joy\, happiness and play. Let tãkaro (play) spark our internal flame so we may share our light\, and allow our inner child to resonate from within and echo into our imaginings. \nAmbrose (Wiremu Sarich) is deeply skilled in indigenous games\, where he moves fluidly between structure and improvisation. He dissolves conventional roles\, creating inclusive play-scapes where participants become co-creators – each person invited into leadership\, expression\, and contribution in ways they may not have otherwise accessed. Guided by the whakatauki\, Kia kawea tatou e te rēhia\, he invites people into spaces of joy\, storytelling\, challenge\, and connection – where learning is not instructed\, but \nThere is no fee for this workshop\, funded by MENZA NEX\, but please register on the link. \nTo register go to: https://forms.gle/WN339dJ1qjGzK75L9 \nFor enquiries\, email: acaldwell@stclair.school.nz
