DESCRIPTION:Date: Saturday 15 February 2020: 9.00 am – 3.00 pm\nVenue: Kristin School\, 360 Albany Highway\, Albany\, Auckland \nThis music and movement workshop with Dr Charlotte Fröhlich will include lots of practical ideas and hints for generalist primary school teachers and music specialists: \n\nOrff and singing skills\nOrff and improvisation on percussion instruments\nMovement\, scene and listening\n\nTo download a workshop poster click on the link. \nPresenter: Dr Charlotte Fröhlich \n\n\n\nDr Charlotte Fröhlich graduated from the University of Fribourg\, Switzerland\, and completed her studies at the Mozarteum and Orff Institute in Salzburg\, Austria. Her PhD thesis (University of Music Hamburg\, Germany) is “Being present – Being aware: Musical contributions to psychosocial prevention”. \nDr Fröhlich has taught in schools\, music schools and universities in Germany and Switzerland. She is involved with teacher training with a particular focus on teaching movement and music to groups of all ages. Her principal interests in music education and research include the connection between music and movement\, the principles of being in an ensemble and motivational factors in music.  Along with holding a lectureship as a professor at the University of Applied Sciences NW Switzerland she is a visiting lecturer in Germany (PH Ludwigsburg) and at the Pedagogical University of St. Gallen\, Switzerland.  She is a co-author of the book “Communicative Musicality”\, edited by Trevarthen/Malloch and publishes regularly in German in the journal called: “Die Musikpraxis”. \nInquiries: Hayley Hunter \nFEES:\n• ONZA members: $80\n• Non-members: $90\n• Full-time Students: $40 \nTo apply for or renew ONZA membership go to Membership page. \nRegister and pay\nRegister your name and details online HERE. DESCRIPTION:‘Being Your Most Musical Self’\nEmpowering Early Childhood Educators to feel confident when engaging young children in active music experiences and learning processes. \nCLICK HERE TO REGISTER \nDate: Saturday 15th February 2020 –  2:00 to 4:30 pm (includes 15 minutes break) \nLocation: Marshall Laing Primary School (Hall)\, 39 Marshall Laing Avenue\, Mount Roskill\, 1041. \n\nMusical activities and cues will be workshopped that foster the development of aural attention\, alert bodies\, and authentic voices (which provide starting points for improvisation and co-creation)\nSimple gestural tools will be shared that ensure confident facilitation of musical engagement.\n\nRegardless of musical background\, as educators\, we can all use these tools and starting points to help nurture the innate musicality within children\, whilst also fostering motor\, language and social -communication skills; attention\, concentration\, and memory; and enlivening the imagination. \nFacilitated by Dalcroze Eurhythmics teacher\, Marie Willis (Dalcroze Eurhythmics Certificate\, P.G Dip MTh\, BMus (Hons) ). Dalcroze Eurhythmics is an active approach to music education which recognises the body-voice as the primary instrument of experience\, understanding\, and expression.
