DESCRIPTION:Ara Music Arts are excited to be partnering with the ‘All Ears’ team to bring this unique week of workshops to New Zealand in January 2018. \nThis week long program is a great opportunity for musicians of any age and ability. It provides participants a format to explore jazz and improvised music in a fun\, safe and nurturing environment\, while focusing on developing improvisation skills in the time honored tradition of the jazz greats: learning by ear. \nAll Ears will run from Monday January 22 to Friday 26 January. There are two sessions separated by lunch (morning and afternoon). \nSessions are broken down into smaller groups as needed to facilitate learning and other activities such as discussions and listening to music are used to deepen their understanding of jazz. \nEach session focuses on learning repertoire and improvisation a leading to the final concert.
