SUMMARY:FREE Mātauranga Pūoro Māori Wananga PLD with Horomona Horo
DESCRIPTION:MENZA is thrilled to be partnering with Horomona Horo and Tāmihana Kātene to provide wānanga across Aotearoa\, supporting kaiāko with their confidence and understanding of mātauranga Māori as it pertains to music. This is made possible by funding from the Networks of Expertise to support preparation for the new NCEA\, and the workshops are free for all teachers. You don’t need to be a MENZA member\, but of course we appreciate all new members too.\n\n\nHoro is an esteemed practitioner of Taonga Pūoro\, core member of the haumanu collective and a gifted teacher. This hui aims to help build your knowledge in mātauranga Māori and mātauranga pūoro. Horomona Horo will be leading ngā hui and potentially inviting mana whenua and other Māori specialists. \n\nPlease register below for your chosen location\, so that we can make the necessary arrangements for morning tea and venue\, and so that we can keep you up-to-date with information about the workshop and the follow-up session and resources. SUMMARY:AMIS Music Educators' Online Summit
DESCRIPTION:AMIS is pleased to present an online event to support global music educators who are facing an uncertain return to teaching in the autumn of 2020.  The Online Summit will be offered in two components: \nASYNCHRONOUS PROGRAM \nA library of 80 asynchronous\, pre-recorded workshops created by music educators and guest presenters from all over the world.  These workshops are available to all registered Summit participants\, and can be viewed at any time from any place in the world.  Workshops will be categorized according to the following strands: \n\nHigh School\nMiddle School\nUpper Elementary\nEarly Years / Kindergarten\nGeneral Music\nMusic Technology\nComposition\nCurriculum & Instruction\nChoral\nBand\nStrings\nIB – PYP\, MYP\, and DP\n\nSYNCHRONOUS PROGRAM \nLive\, interactive online weekend gatherings with keynote webinars and opportunities for discussion and Q&A with workshop presenters.  All sessions will run from 1pm to 5pm GMT.

DESCRIPTION:Sector: Secondary\nWhere: Nelson Centre for Musical Arts (Recital Theatre)\nCost: Free for MENZA members\, first year teachers and those currently enrolled in an education degree\, or $30 for non-members.\nREGISTER HERE. \nThis workshop will guide teachers through a BYOD friendly recording setup suitable for teachers and their students. Using online and free resources in conjunction with quality audio hardware\, this workshop will be hands-on and based in the context of your school. Links to NCEA and Production Tech Unit standards will be included. By the end of this workshop\, participants will have recorded a song from scratch and in doing so increase their confidence\, knowledge and ability. It is a goal of Martin’s\, that teachers would be able to record their own students the following day.  \n  \nMartin Emo has run workshops for Music Technology throughout Aotearoa / New Zealand/Australia and Online for MENZA\, the Ministry of Education\, NZQA and through his educational consultancy. He holds a Masters in Education based on effective professional development for Music teachers in using Music Technology. Martin is currently the Musicnet Facilitator for NZ and a Full-time PhD candidate \n
