The first encompasses the concept of the ‘lilt’ where poetry is ‘nudged’ into music with simple melodies reminiscent of the lullaby. The second is a complex set of alliterative alphabet poems set to music which have been enthusiastically learned and performed by children as young as 4. \n WORKSHOP 2B: Springboards \nWhere do I start? – how do I build a music programme? This will be a hands on workshop for teachers of 0 to 8 year olds and includes: singing\, listening\, playing\, moving and creating. Lots of practical ideas to take away and use in your centres and schools.\nDeb Ferrier-Kerr has been teaching music to children for over 25 years. The combination of singing and dancing has a range of health benefits and also helps teachers include more music in the ‘crowded curriculum.’ The songs can be varied to include different ages and skill levels and recorded instrumental tracks are also provided that can accompany the dances as well. \n  \n
