SUMMARY:National Music Education Wānanga ~ Dec 1-3
DESCRIPTION:This National Music Education Wānanga will be held at Te Kauri Marae in Huntly.\n\nKaupapa: The purpose of this wānanga is to further develop\, strengthen and embed Matauranga Māori and understanding – the who\, when\, why\, how to implement Te Ao Māori aspects into education\, to build cultural competencies\, composition and Te Tiriti Alignment.\n\nFacilitators: Kelly Kahukiwa – alignment with Te Tiriti\, Horomona Horo – Taonga Puoro & embedding the principles of Te Ao Māori and tikanga\, learning concepts of Tika\, Kawa & Pono (Ihi\, Wehi\, Wana)\, Wiremu Sarich – traditional Māori games\, whanaungatanga activities\, play in terms of brain development and to discern classroom energies.\n\nThis is fully funded if you are a MENZA member\, or $50 for non-MENZA members (this includes membership). Please bring a koha (cash in envelope) for the Pōwhiri at 5pm at Te Kauri Marae\, Taupiri.
