DESCRIPTION:Cellophonia brings together cellists from all around the country to attend masterclasses\, workshops\, and to take part in ensemble playing. This year’s event features special guest artist Alvin Wong from the University of Melbourne; co-directors are Inbal Megiddo (Te Kōkī New Zealand School of Music\, Senior Lecturer in cello) & Andrew Joyce (Principal Cellist of the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra). The event culminates in a concert\, featuring the guest artists and participants. \nThere are two options for participants: \nOption One:\n– Price: $50\n– Cellophonia Ensemble – rehearsals and concert\n– An opportunity for cellists of any level to play with top musicians in a large ‘cello-only’ ensemble.\n– Guest Artist Alvin Wong\, Inbal and Andrew Joyce will play together with participants as part of the ensemble\n– Lunch and dinner on Saturday \nOption Two:\n– Price: $100 Earlybird (before 1 Oct or $120 full price)\n– Cellophonia ensemble – rehearsals and concert\n– Advanced ensemble – rehearsals and concert\n– Orchestral excerpts and auditions workshop with Andrew Joyce\n– Participation in masterclasses with Alvin Wong and Inbal Megiddo\n– A 30-minute private lesson with Alvin Wong\, Andrew Joyce or Inbal Megiddo\n– Lunch and dinner on Saturday \nTo register please download the registration form from:\nwww.nzsm.ac.nz/events/cellophonia\n(this is in addition to making payment via Eventfinda)
