SUMMARY:ASQ International Music Academy 2018 - Applications close 15 April
DESCRIPTION:Applications are now open for the 2018 ASQ International Music Academy\, which will take place from 23-28 July at St Andrew’s on The Terrace in Wellington. Participants can enrol for either the full six-day course\, or a shorter version running Thursday to Saturday.\n\n\nThe e-flyer\, brochure and application form for 2018 Academy can be downloaded from www.arohaquartet.co.nz/asq-academy-2018.\n\n\n\n\nThe ASQ Academy is ideal for student and adult non-professional string players and pianists of a minimum standard of Grade VI. A maximum of three pianists will be accepted\, for the full course only. Participants receive chamber music and string orchestra coaching\, take part in masterclasses\, sectionals\, informal concerts\, social events\, and the final concert on the Saturday evening. There will also be public lunchtime concerts for particpants and tutors.\n\n\n\n\nGuest tutors are: pianist Emma Sayers (formerly lecturer at Massey University Conservatorium of Music and the New Zealand School of Music)\, violinist Donald Armstrong (NZSO Associate Concertmaster)\, cellist Ken Ichinose (NZSO Associate Principal Cello)\, double bassist Joan Perarnau Garriga (NZSO Principal Double Bass) and chamber music coach Brian Shillito (former NZSO Sub-Principal Viola).\n\n\n\n\nApplications close on Sunday 15 April.

DESCRIPTION:Theory Games \nAn opportunity to try out all the most popular music games used at the after school Chisnallwood Theory Club. \nSunday July 29 \n1-4pm \nRangiruru Girls School \nMusic Department \nPresenter Judith Bell \nHosted by IRMT (Christchurch) \nTry out a range of effective\, outside-the-square\, tried & true theory activities from the very popular Chisnallwood School Theory Club. Games are suitable for a range of ages and easily adaptable for different levels and music abilities but ideally from ages 7 – 13. Some activities use technology and others are completely unplugged.
