Dear ISME Leadership,
We are excited to announce ISME’s inaugural social media campaign, and we need your help to get it started!
This campaign has two key objectives:
- Raise funds to support ISME members who cannot afford travel to the World Conference or membership fees.
- Increase ISME’s social media presence to attract new members, secure funding and support, and boost advocacy for music education.
The second goal is especially crucial as we work to expand ISME’s reach, influence, and impact globally.
The Plan:
In alignment with GivingTuesday—a major global day of charitable giving on December 3—we’ll be launching this campaign across all our social media platforms starting this Friday (November 29).
What we need from you:
- Post a song: When you see the campaign posts go live, record and share a short video of yourself performing or sharing a song (doesn’t need to be a full song). It doesn’t have to be perfect or formal—authentic and real is best!
- Tag three others: Encourage your network to join in by tagging three friends, colleagues, or fellow musicians to do the same and using #passthemelody #ISME
This early momentum is critical to the campaign’s success. By leveraging your influence, we can inspire widespread participation, raise much-needed funds, and elevate ISME’s visibility.
Your involvement is vital, and we are counting on your leadership to help us make a meaningful impact. Together, let’s create a wave of support for music education and the ISME community.
How it works and messaging:
#PassTheMelody Challenge: Share Your Song, Bridge Cultures, Spread the Joy, Support the Cause
Join us in the #PassTheMelody challenge!
Here’s how it works: Play, perform, or sing a melody or song that holds special meaning to you and share it on social media. Then, challenge three friends to do the same. For every participant, donate at least $1 (or more if you can!) to support our campaign, and encourage those you’ve challenged to contribute too.
Every melody shared and every dollar donated helps provide access to opportunities for music educators who may otherwise be unable to attend conferences or maintain memberships, especially from underrepresented regions.
Make sure to add #passthemelody and #ISME to your post
Let’s spread the melody, spread the love, and make a difference together!Link to donate: https://www.paypal.com/donate?campaign_id=M85HVZGDE84MW
