Bryony Gibson-Cornish is one of New Zealand’s finest emerging artists. She is a sought after international soloist, chamber musician and orchestral player. She has a Masters in Music from the Juilliard School in New York and is currently studying at the Royal College of Music in London.
She enjoys challenging the boundaries of classical music with her pursuits of composition, singing, improvisation, new music, historical performance and music technology. Recent awards include the Pultron Composites Award for the best performance of a New Zealand Work (Salina Fisher’s “Reflect”) at the Gisborne International Music Competition and an Award from the Yamaha Foundation of Europe.
During the summer of 2015, Bryony toured with Chamber Music New Zealand as a member of the Turnovsky Jubilee Ensemble, celebrating the 50th anniversary of the organisation’s Chamber Music Contest. Highlights of summer 2016 include IMS Prussia Cove Open Chamber Music, Music From Angel Fire and the London Sinfonietta Academy. When she visits New Zealand, she presents workshops and concerts and in recent years she has been a featured artist with the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra and the Christchurch Symphony Orchestra.
