“Matching Prospective Band Students to Instruments”

One of the most exciting and important events in the life of a prospective band student is selecting the instrument they are going to play.  There are many factors that influence a student’s decision.  This clinic will provide practical suggestions for the selection process, with the goal of ensuring maximum success for both student and band.

 “Crafting a purposeful Warm-Up”

With the help of a demo band, Bruce Pearson will show how to develop a planned and purposeful warm up for your rehearsal.

“Achieving Excellence in the Heterogeneous Band Class”

Teaching beginning band can be exciting, rewarding – and challenging – especially in a heterogeneous setting. In this clinic, Dr. Pearson will share “best practices” for starting the heterogeneous band in their first lessons.

2:45 – 3:45 – Session 4

“Conducting Clinic”
