Presenter: Dr Charlotte Fröhlich
Dr Charlotte Fröhlich graduated from the University of Fribourg, Switzerland, and completed her studies at the Mozarteum and Orff Institute in Salzburg, Austria. Her PhD thesis (University of Music Hamburg, Germany) is “Being present – Being aware: Musical contributions to psychosocial prevention”.
Dr Fröhlich has taught in schools, music schools and universities in Germany and Switzerland. She is involved with teacher training with a particular focus on teaching movement and music to groups of all ages. Her principal interests in music education and research include the connection between music and movement, the principles of being in an ensemble and motivational factors in music. Along with holding a lectureship as a professor at the University of Applied Sciences NW Switzerland she is a visiting lecturer in Germany (PH Ludwigsburg) and at the Pedagogical University of St. Gallen, Switzerland. She is a co-author of the book “Communicative Musicality”, edited by Trevarthen/Malloch and publishes regularly in German in the journal called: “Die Musikpraxis”.
