Empowering Early Childhood Educators to feel confident when engaging young children in active music experiences and learning processes.
Date: Saturday 15th February 2020 – 2:00 to 4:30 pm (includes 15 minutes break)
Location: Marshall Laing Primary School (Hall), 39 Marshall Laing Avenue, Mount Roskill, 1041.
Regardless of musical background, as educators, we can all use these tools and starting points to help nurture the innate musicality within children, whilst also fostering motor, language and social -communication skills; attention, concentration, and memory; and enlivening the imagination.
Facilitated by Dalcroze Eurhythmics teacher, Marie Willis (Dalcroze Eurhythmics Certificate, P.G Dip MTh, BMus (Hons) ). Dalcroze Eurhythmics is an active approach to music education which recognises the body-voice as the primary instrument of experience, understanding, and expression. Working through whole body movement responses to music, whilst simultaneously engaging senses, emotions, body and intellect; and inviting improvisation/creation, is a language of playfulness that naturally resonates with children.
