Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra presents Discovery, a concert designed for secondary school students.
In this rare opportunity to have the orchestral experience tailored to them, Secondary school students hear legendary works performed live by the full APO in the Auckland Town Hall.
Presenter Nathan King will explore the theme of music and journeys in a presentation packed full of curriculum-linked demonstrations, historical anecdotes, and vibrant music.
This concert is the perfect accompaniment to a teacher’s NCEA delivery, featuring works by Grieg, Mendelssohn and NZ composers Salina Fisher and Liam Pram. (View the full programme here.)
The concert will also be live-streamed so you don’t need to be in Auckland to be a part of it. Teaching materials to accompany the concert are also available.
