BOP wānanga taonga pūoro for practitioners day in Te Puke

This wānanga taonga pūoro for practitioners will be held in Te Puke at Makahae Marae, 20 Te Kahika Road, Te Puke on 29 September 2024. Resources and food are included. Some travel subsidies are also available.
Facilitator: Jo’el Komene
The intent is to establish a group to help share expertise, to provide PLD, and to support and grow a network of practitioners across the wider Bay of Plenty. This allows the identification of practitioners and supports the revitalisation of taonga pūoro. This allows the development of expertise in music educators as they will have access to practitioners. All kura would have access to these practitioners.
Programme (outline, flexible on the day): FREE to attend
900-1030 Powhiri and morning tea
1030-1230 Session 1 – General discussion (logistics of the group/membership/membership fee?)
1230-1330 Lunch
1330-1530 Session 2 – Taonga Pūoro workshops
1530-1600 Afternoon tea and poroporoaki
