Join us for this educational concert for school students Years 5 – 9!
Orchestral Explorers is an immersive concert with the Auckland Philharmonia that welcomes school students into the world of live orchestral music. Designed especially for students from Years 5 to 9, this engaging concert will spark curiosity, inspire creativity and create long-lasting musical memories.
This year’s show features a very special collaboration with Massive Theatre Company, combining theatre and music in a powerful live performance of Symphonic Legends. Created by composer Peter Scholes and renowned playwright Witi Ihimaera, this unique Aotearoa work weaves together four mythical stories, performed by a cast of actors and accompanied by a sweeping, cinematic orchestral score.
Commissioned especially for Auckland Philharmonia, this year’s performances mark 30 years since the work’s premiere — a rare opportunity to experience a beautiful and significant New Zealand story brought back to the stage by two outstanding Auckland arts organisations.
