Our yearly ‘CONDUCTING WORKSHOP’ is back!!! Whether you are a teacher, instrumentalist, singer or music student, the knowledge of how to conduct a choir or an orchestra is a most important musical skill. Our workshop offers a progressive series of enjoyable and stimulating stages which will rapidly improve your conducting.
All levels and ages welcome!

1.00 – 1.30 basic conducting techniques
1.30 – 2.30 first session with choir & piano
2.30 – 2.50 Tea break
2.50 – 4.20 2nd session with choir & orchestra
4.20 – 4.40 Tea break & snack
4.45 – 6.00 workshop performance with soloists
6.00 Question time over wine and cheese

Music and Artistic Director Rita Paczian is a professional free-lance conductor performing in New Zealand and abroad. Specialising in historically informed Baroque performance, she has worked extensively with the Vienna Baroque orchestra Wiener Akademie. A New Zealand citizen now resident in Tairua, she is widely regarded as one of Australasia’s most dynamic conductors and is in demand internationally by leading orchestras in Europe, Australia and South Africa. Under her direction since 1993, Bach Musica NZ is now recognised as one of New Zealand’s leading music ensemble.
