Drum Weekend

November 23, 2019 - November 24, 2019

The Drum Festival – 23-24 November
Samba, Afro-Cuban, African, Gypsy Caravan, Japanese and Balinese…come celebrate amazing cultural diversity at this unique two-day global drumming festival hosted at the Little River Campground and Manaia Native Habitat this weekend (23-24 November 2019).
The Drum Festival is the South Island’s only drum-focused festival showcasing African, Indian, Arabic, Asian drum performances and workshops as well as a fusion of contemporary drumming.
Set within a beautiful natural landscape of native flora and fauna in Okuti Valley on the Banks Peninsular, this two-day festival offers world-renowned performers, drumming sessions, dance, singing and percussion workshops, and a regular highlight — the late-night jams around a riverside campfire!
Overnight camping is also available which is perfect for those wishing to immerse themselves for a weekend of African beats and good vibes within lush native bush.
Bring the family and spend a day (or weekend) enjoying fantastic cultural music and international performers, as well as exploring the lush natural habitat, majestic birdlife and other onsite features (slippery slide, tree swings, bush walks etc) the campground has to offer.
Tickets are strictly limited so book now.
