Music Education Canterbury is excited to announce that we are once again supporting Jazz on the Road for Canterbury students and teachers on Thursday 30 May at the Aurora Centre and Burnside High School. This event will feature three outstanding international guests Greg Bissonette on drums , Louis Dowdeswell on trumpet, Glen Walters and the Rodger Fox Big Band.
Jazz on the Road is a half day workshop and performance event with young intermediate and secondary school musicians around big band and jazz concepts. Through individual workshops, panel discussions and demonstration to the school jazz bands attending, followed by an evening concert students will get to develop their skills and appreciation of what it takes to make great music.
