Workshop 1: NCEA 1.1 Use music skills in a music style Workshop
In this workshop, we will unpack how to assess NCEA Music 1.1, Use music skills in a music style, and prepare students for the assessment.
Workshop 2: Taonga Puoro Workshop
This workshop will look at how to create Taonga Puoro using clay. The workshop will be facilitated by Rapua Timoti, Trevania Walbaekken and Ben Lau. Suitable for Kaiako teaching at all levels.

Proposed changes to MENZA
Due to the Incorporated Societies Act 2022, MENZA (Music Education New Zealand Aotearoa) has to update its Constitution. The Board has been working hard on this with the assistance of Maude and Miller and is asking the membership to adopt the new constitution at the next AGM.
The draft constitution was first presented to the membership at last year’s AGM, and feedback was received. Another draft version was presented at the Special General Meeting in Oct 2023, where more thorough feedback was sought. After consultation with the membership and advice from lawyers, I will put forward the following motion:
I propose that the MENZA membership adopt the new Constitution presented to the membership on the 15th of June, 2024.
Please find a copy of the constitution to have a read-through.
I would also like to propose a change to our membership fees. Unfortunately, there are costs involved in running an organisation like MENZA. Although the board tries to seek funding from other external sources, we also heavily rely on membership fees. The proposed changes are as follows:
