MENZA Conference Online: Unpacking how to integrate Ableton Live into the music classroom. Matt Ridgway and Martin Emo

October 12, 2021 @ 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm

Both Matt and Martin contributed to four ‘classroom projects’ – comprehensive and engaging music teaching resources that are freely available on ableton.com as part of the Ableton for the Classroom Initiative which includes free copies of Ableton Live 11. In this workshop, Matt will delve into these classroom projects, explaining their intention and development. He will then demonstrate some of the techniques used in the projects and explain how he has used them to engage his students in music learning, recording, composition and performance. Martin will provide NZ curriculum and assessment context for effectively integrating Ableton Live in your classroom.

Matt Ridgway is a multi-faceted musician and educator from Melbourne, Australia. In his role as Ableton’s Education Specialist for Aus/NZ, Matt works with artists and educators to develop their skills using Live as the central hub of their music creation.

Martin Emo has worked in music education and digital technology across New Zealand and internationally. His research informed the education support that Ableton offer.

Register here. Workshop is free and all are welcome, you don’t need to be a MENZA member.
