A cappella festival brings Pitch Perfect music-maker to Auckland!
Have you ever wished you could sing in a group like Pentatonix or the Barden Bellas from Pitch Perfect? Now’s your chance to discover how that feels!
The Pan Pacific Youth Harmony Festival is a brand new festival celebrating all things a cappella! From 13-14 July, the festival will take over Auckland’s Aotea Centre with workshops and shows for music-lovers of all ages, and competitions for youth barbershop quartets and a cappella groups.
Attendees will have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to learn directly from Deke Sharon – the “father of contemporary a cappella.” Producer of The Sing Off, arranger, musical director, and vocal producer of Pitch Perfect and Pitch Perfect 2, Deke has worked with everyone in a cappella from Pentatonix to Anna Kendrick.
New to a cappella? Learn the basics in Deke’s Introduction to A Cappella workshop. Or, watch how techniques are applied to a live group, in Deke’s A Cappella Masterclass. Got your own arrangement? Take it to the next level and spend one-on-one time with Deke in his Arranger’s Masterclass.
Music-lovers can watch quartets and groups perform in the competitions, or see the best of the best at the Showcase of Champions.
