MENZA is a member of ISME, which holds International conferences every second year in different countries and regional conferences every other year. ISME is present in over eighty countries, is the premiere international organisation for music education, respects all musics and all cultures, is affiliated to the International Music Council and UNESCO, and believes that every individual has a right to music education.
We are a group of music educators actively working together to make safer spaces in music education, representing the full spectrum of music education in Aotearoa, from early childhood to tertiary, as well as studio/private/itinerant music teachers, music therapists, and community music providers who support youth. Most importantly, we are listening to the voices of our ākonga/students.
