It’s the last day of term 3! Well done, you’ve made it through parent conferences, performances and sickness. Time to sit back and relax somewhere in the next two weeks. 

It’s 9 days till the MENZA Conference starts and I do hope that you’ll be one of the nearly 150 delegates attending. The program is jam-packed with workshops and opportunities to network with other teachers and the keynotes. Keep an eye on your email for final updates.

Michael has started a petition for better pay and conditions for out of hours music tutors. 

Auckland Choral is accepting entries for their competition for students to compose for organ and choir. 

Do you have a PA with foldback for students on a stage? Joanna is looking for some advice on the different options she has. 

Clarinet for sale in Henderson and another Clarinet in Titirangi. 

Visit the Auckland Zoo for free in October. 

Secondary 

Do you run a Music Technology course for Yr 9 or 10s? Megan is offering one in 2020 and looking for help.

Stephen had some help with marking a L3 drummer at Polyfest. 

ARA Music in CHCH is now accepting auditions for study in 2020. 

 

Professional Development and Events

Bigger Better Brains with Dr Anita Collins, AKL and WLG in November

Labour Weekend Big Band Festival in CHCH. Lots of concerts including workshops and performances from the USA. 

TAPS in AKL is running a percussion workshop with international guests. 

NZ Brass Academy 2020 brass camp is now open for applications. 

Opera-tunity is performing Handel in AKL for free.
