Musicnet Summary to 15 June 2020

The MENZA AGM is being held on Saturday 8th August in AKL. It’s slightly later than usual, as the board were waiting to see what was happening with Covid-19 restrictions. It begins at 1:30 with 2 workshops confirmed so far: Delysse Glynn, National Assessment Moderator from NZQA, and Maria Winder doing a play-through of the 2020 Kiwileles Songbook. The AGM is from 2:30-4pm. There will also be an opportunity to join the AGM via Zoom if you can’t travel to Auckland.

General (for all Music Levels)

“Sing, they all said, just sing” is a film available on free live stream till 5th July. It’s a NZ film based on three participants with neurological conditions. 

West Side Story resources from Katie Wardrobe at Midnight Music. 

6 Podcasts on supporting Tamariki back to everyday live. 

Richard is looking for help to create a Performing Arts program for his intermediate school. 



Auditions for the New Zealand School of Music at Victoria University are due by the 20th of July. This year via recordings and video conference interviews. 

Georgie is looking for some help with the Critical Reflection part of Scholarship. 


Professional Development and Events

Learning Ideas (Duncan Ferguson) is urgently needing anyone interested in attending his upcoming workshops on creating quality video submissions to email him directly. 

NZ Opera has launched a new initiative “Voices of Aotearoa 6:24
