Kia ora tātou

A facebook post reminded me of a great youtube channel that are a wealth of content for your classroom. NPR Music, which hosts concerts in an office (and now in homes) with possibly the widest coverage of musicians. From John Legend, Wu-Tang Clan and Mavis Staples to Yo-yo Ma, Kronos Quartet and and Rahim AlHaj (playing the Oud!). There is even a great video on how they record audio and drums at their concerts. During the pandemic, they have been streaming their concerts live too.

Looking to important national Music news, MENZA has committed to better enable and support Māori leadership pathways in NZ arts education. MENZA would like to invite you to put yourself forward, or nominate someone you know who would be keen, to join us as a tangata whenua member of the MENZA board at our upcoming AGM on the 8th of August.  This is an opportunity to add your voice and experience to these new conversations around possibilities in the bicultural direction for music education in Aotearoa-New Zealand. Email jeni.little AT hobsonvillepoint.school.nz or priyagain AT gmail.com for more information.
