Kia ora tātou

It’s holidays now! Hearing the various challenges that teachers have faced over the last few months, I really hope that you can turn off your email, unplug your laptop and have some days to yourself. The second half of the year will also bring changes, as the year is squished and adjusted on reflection of the time lost at the start of the year. Pushing NCEA exams back 2 weeks is also going to have an impact.

Next year MENZA will be holding their bi-annual 3-day conference. A sunny north island location is penciled in, with more details to follow early Term 4. Keep this in mind if you’re putting in for budget requests for Professional Learning Development for 2021.  In the meantime, the videos from the keynote presentations from the last one in Christchurch’19 are here.

Summary to 26 September 2020

The New Zealand Choral Federation and MENZA have launched a new virtual choir project “Kids Online Singalong”. Primary and intermediate students (and their choirs) are invited to sing the winning entry from the Hook Line A Sing A Long this year and submit a video by the 13th Nov. More details are here.
