Date Saturday May 18th 10am – 12pm
Venue: LaidLaw College, 80 Central Park Drive, Henderson.
Dr McWilliams will be working with all aspects of the live ensemble to show best practice and techniques and strategies for developing a better ensemble program with in your school and also how to get more from you existing ensembles and what to be prepared for as the teacher-ensemble director.
Good conducting gesture communicates much more than beat & pulse (although this will also be addressed!). Good conducting technique enables the expressive message to be much more clearly communicated from the podium. This session will review some of the basic, required techniques for optimum gestural clarity and expression.
Thank you to YAMAHA, MusicWorks & ABODA for providing this Professional development at no cost, and a big thanks to West City Youth Concert Band for being our training band on Saturday.
